Walks - Printed Books and/or Guides? (1 Viewer)

Any recommendations for guidebooks for relatively short [up to 10 miles] UK walks which are good for us Motorhomers - ie circular?
[or have easy public transport links back to the starting point]

I enjoy a decent stroll but I don't want to be doing strenuous long distance Wainwright hikes.

Thought some of you might have a "go to guide" you swear by.

If your coming Norfolk way the EDP paper used to publish some walks around east Anglia , it was a feature in the weekend edition.

The Pathfinder Guides, published by Jarrold Publishing, are based on O.S. maps.
All circular walks, showing points of interest and other useful information such as car parks and refreshment stops.
Each book features a UK county and can be obtained from good bookshops and tourist sites or direct from www.britguides.co.uk.

I agree there are often some interesting features in magazines & papers.
Also online - but I'm hoping to find a book(let) which collates at least a few together in an area

I think they used to do a book at Xmas time , you know for sort of thing for a stocking filler .

Some councils publish them

We also have some of the AA guides which are quite good and often available in charity shops and car boot sales.

Those sort of guides do exist, often found in a Tourist info office or a local bookshop( I know both these things are getting rarer......). We have a number which come under the name 'pathfinder guide'. You may find them on eBay or Amazon marketplace?

Always try the local Tourist Information Office, they usually have pamphlets of local walks and have local knowledge.

Already subscribe to walkingworld but I was looking for a book rather than an online resource.

In the same vein as the sites you suggested - I've just discovered
iFootpath - it's a free website ( ifootpath.com ) and a £1.49 app

Pathfinder are available on Amazon - I looked after Stef's suggestion.

You may also find guides called 'pub walks in the....', we have two of these for our home area. They often have reasonable length walks but with the added benefit of a pub
Suspect these will be local publications as I have just gone and looked in the ones we have got.

I have a box full of walking books that will fit the parameters you want. I can o longer walk very far since a surgeon severed a nerve in my left leg.
