.... booked in for the National Motorhome Show at Peterborough next year .... :D

I got a letter this morning offering a £5 discount for early booking, plus £2 off for club membership, plus another £5 discount if I was a subscriber which I wasn't but as we were planning on going anyway I did a search of the internet for subscriber offers and found one for "3 free issues of MMM then £9.99 a quarter", soooooooooo ...

First I registered for the MMM site in my name (NOT the forum, that's different):

Then I signed up for the "3 free issues etc" offer here:

Once I'd got a confirmation email for it I then went onto the Warners site and booked in for the show ... total cost £38 (arriving Thursday):

Aug 09 to date 9,000 miles!
Jeez - to me, the whole point about being retired is so we DON'T have to plan things this far in advance, like you've always had to whilst at work in order not to clash with co-workers and known surges in workload.

I doubt we'd know by the end of next March what we might be doing in mid-April !

But sometimes with events that are fixed dates you have to book before it fills up :)

Well - that actually pre-supposes you would want to go to it, I think you'll find! LOL

And then you have to get there one second after the gates open to get the best FUN pitch, unless some *&^%$$%^ marshal is saving the best for his/her mates.

Followed 3 minutes later by putting your chairs in the optimum place in the marquee.

Followed by a large glass of wine coz you are stressed out.

Remember this............ Ode to Peterborough 2012

The Peterborough show, must have cost lots of dough,

But the Funsters will enjoy it, No Matter,

I said to the wife, "Getting out will be Strife"

Then along came a guy with a Tractor.

Over he came across the floodplain.

My rig had sunk into a pit

Only one way to get the chain on

Then he led down like a pig in some sh*t.

The chain was attached and the tractor was backed,

Then he pulled forward and took up the strain

I said a quick prayer “Oh God, get me there.”

Then I heard the strain on the chain.

I gave her some revs and we started to move,

Hands sweating, mouth making saliva,

We got to hard ground and the driver climbed down

Twas then that I gave him the fiver.

We climbed aboard, confidence restored

And made our escape from the “Fun”

I vowed never again would I go through such pain

Next time we will head for the Sun.
