Over 25 year's
We use our van all year round we normally in the winter after every time we use the van. But we do some times just hook up ehu and put a heater on frost protection.
We do drain down the boiler after each use well lagged pipe work and fully winterised van helps

Yup.. we use it most of the year but are not expecting to use it for a couple of weeks now.
And it only takes ONE cold snap to set you back several hundred shekels !!

As a by the by.. Anyone with a temperature controlled mixing tap in the shower or any where else need to be especially careful
When we bought the present van ( Autotrail Chieftain ) the mixer tap in the shower and the one on the external shower point were both banjaxed.
Someone had failed to drain down properly and the water had frozen in them, bursting the rather delicate membrane in the little buggers.
Cost nearly a £100 to replace..

Also any mixing tap needs to be set to the central position when draining down, quite common for folks to drain down with the tap on cold and are surprised at the cost of a new tap.

That's reminded me to go and pop the EHU on and put some heat on...the one I have dumps all the water if it freezes.

One way to avoid the chore of having to drain down and prepare for winter weather is to....

Go fulltiming (y)

I did appreciate the warning though @Jaws , I got my fresh tanks filled in case the outside tap froze...(y)

To late! Woke up to a layer of snow. Waiting for it to melt and take a look ... Should have headed the warnings sooner!:frowny:
