So Monday Last week I passed my Motorcycle theory Test

Wednesday I was heading to work on my YBR 125 Custom in that torrential rain & at 08.40 I was stationary @ a roundabout waiting for a gap so I could tippy toe around when a Porsche Boxter hit me from behind sending the bike from under me & I fell backwards onto his bonnet before sliding off to the ground.

Im currently waiting to see if the bike gets repaired or written off however on the up side I am enjoying the courtesy bike a Honada CBF 125 its really nice to ride & I prefer it over mine.

Well, hope you are ok after that, but also hope you put a sodding great dent in the bonnet of his Porsche......

His company is opposite one of the Depots I drive for so I popped over to the tea bar which is right outside & ordered a Coffee had a nose @ the front while it was facing out.
Didnt get close enough to see the bonnet but the Bumper is cracked & a cooler is well n truly bent up :D

Not long enough, but a little common sense helps..........
Oh dear....bang goes your insurance claim for back injuries and whiplash.
This can show up days or weeks after an accident. When I got "knocked" off in London I was fine until the weekend and could not get out of bed as neck was so sore.

Thank goodness your ok. The thing to do now is claim claim claim. I know many on here will have a go at me for this:(, but get what you can.
"Where there is blame there is a claim"

How many times have I heard that? It is not a case of "getting what you can", it is a case of being fairly compensated

When I started riding a bike, after driving cars for over 40 years, my instructor told me to treat all other road users as 'paid assassins', and to remember that A&E staff call bikers 'doners'.

The more I see of current drivers and read about drivers who 'did not see you' the more I despair but the standard of driving seriously deteriorated when Sainsburys started putting driving licenses in their posh Christmas crackers!

Well that's two in the club. I was knocked off by a 911 in Nov 2013. A bit beat up but no blood and next bike within 3 weeks. You beat me then.

You did no wrong. Make sure you get all that is due to you.

I was stopped on the m11 at a contraflow ,all I heard was a noise of tyres sliding over the tarmac ,then bamm, I rocked backwards before I flew off the bike and landed on the deck ,my head was inches from another vehicles tyres who was heading in the opposite direction , it just had to be a volvo , my bike was a write off and I got paid for a whiplash claim .

I really do hope there are no long term ill effects from your bump. however, and although not bike related, I was in a car smash hit from behind. I got myself out and although my back was sore, the adrenaline saw me ok to drive home, the other driver didnt stop. number and details were memorised by a witness though. anyway went home got in a hot soothing bath and could barely get out after. next day i had a lot of pain and reduced sensation in my legs. turned out i had a broken bone in my back and a bruised spinal chord, which was only evident later.
from sad experience, I met numerous bikers who had similar bumps to yours and the specialists recon its pretty common for symptoms to show even weeks down the line. If you have any strange sensations or stiffness in your back or neck over the next few weeks dont hang about, go to your doctor straight away. And I know this sounds weird, get your mrs to photograph the bruise and draw round it on your skin with a biro. if the bruise spreads or you need to take this to the doctors it will help in treatment

pleased you feel ok though, and as others have said the bike is easily replaceable and hopefully buy something better

Again not a bike accident but after our car and caravan were hit from behind by a bus on the M4 I felt OK.

About four weeks later I started to feel as if I had been kicked in the b@lls, quite painful and achy.

I went to the Doc who examined me and asked if I had been in an accident recently. When I told him about the bus he said my problem was caused by "referred pain" from a back injury. It took about a month to clear up.

I didn't sue as the bus didn't stop after hitting us and just carried on, even though he must have seen our unit spin around twice and hit the central reservation barrier.

Good luck. Enjoy your new bike and take care.
