Hi again
We bought a satnav:
Garmin nuvi 2599LMT-D...
in anticipation of our impending motorhome purchase only to find the windscreen attachment will not do (too far away!) and we would prefer a dashboard freestanding thingy. Does anyone know if such a thing exists for this particular sat nav?
Hope this isn't the first in a list of rashly purchased mishaps!

We fixed the mount that came with it to the center of the dashboard with the screws it came with. Perfect position.

Doesn't it come with a self adhesive disc? Mine did.

I made my own bracket for my SatNav to sit on, it fits nicely in the middle pocket in the dash leaving the space free and has 2 benefits navigator can adjust it as we drive and it is closer to us so no stretching to adjust alter etc. I also put a double USB socket in the pocket saves having cables trailing everywhere.

We use an I-Pad with the TomTom app on it. That sits on top of the "defunct" clipboard holder thingy.. in its own stand up doofer.
Good with words aint I....

The shape of our dashboard allows us to prop up and grip our 5" TomTom with a tablet stand from Poundland.

It's the same design as this one Broken Link Removed

Get one of those beanbag/doughnut mounts as mentioned in previous posts. For around a tenner, they are brilliant!!!

You can just swap the thing between MH and cars AND just move it around the vehicle to suit or if the sun is reflecting on the screen.

I have two Tom-Tom dashboard discs on which I fit a dash-cam and Sat-Nav. They look good and work perfectly. I think even Curry's sell them for around £5.

I have a Tom Tom and can just get the suction mount to fit under the clipboard so it can be adjusted by either of us, but a suction mount from Garmin should fit too.

Find yer spot. Peel off the backing paper. Stick it too yer dash. Bobs yer muvvers bruvver.

Cost ? Two whole of yer finest English pounds.

We have a 7 inch Garmin and it sits perfectly on the dash

Dont put yer nav unit to close to the radio head unit as the strong magnets in the Nav unit can ruin radio reception ..

I would never in a million years screw anything into the dash on any vehicle let alone an expensive Motor home ! Ye gods man !:censored::censored: :D:D

Hi Jac
don't know what mh you are buying but our new one is on a fiat base and the new style pop up document holder in the middle of the dash has a locking clamp which when released allows you to put you satnav/tablet/ipad in and then secure it - very neat as long as you do not mind driving with the document holder in the up position

2) 1 each for car and MH (dash cam)
3) Can be used as a small frisby
4) Had ERNIE give me £25 today so showing off by spending some of my buckshee bucks
5) None of your business how I spend my cash :moon2:
6) Don't tell them two that I have cash to waste, they'll be after a sub.
