Our RV, which is our home at the moment, (we have rented our flat and were travelling Europe) was stolen last evening, 5th November 2015 between the hours of 6pm and 7pm from Tesco car park in Brent Cross. This is literally our home and contains all belongings, our clothes, guitar, laptop, work, sentimental memorabilia etc! Please make it viral so these scumbags are caught and our RV is found! Something odd about it. Nothing mentioned on the guys Facebook page and not a single photo of a motorhome. It came up on my newsfeed under a different name (female) but her page looks a little strange too.

I saw it on face ache and it's a MoHo on a Transit chassis not what I personally would call an RV. (n)

It does look low doesn't it but if they are full timers as it says all their belongings are in there.
I do wonder if it was left open, keys in it or something? Thought keys had chips 'n stuff?

started when I was 11 with my parents-forgot to stop!been real one since 1980!
Transit locks are easy to pick and they can get a key to start it from the OBD port.

Don't know why but I have a feeling something doesn't ring true here as well.

White 2009 Ford diesel

The details shown say the vehicle was first registered as a chassis cab. Dvla shows it as a 2 axle rigid body! Same as it shows mine.

transits are notoriously easy to open and start/drive away
simple to protect though by disabling with a hidden switch. also self monitored tracker immobilisers can be bought for about £20. if you live full time in your motorhome, then such measures are essential

Would it be possible for the owners to alert the ferry companies at Holyhead and the departing port that it is stolen as they will have the registration?

Edit: posted this on owner's FB page.

We have contacted them but they have not been very helpful. Data protection act doesn't allow them to do much unless it comes from the police. Being Sunday they transferred us from no to no 'updated their file' and told us that they would onform the officer on the case. It's shamful!

none at all they know that there is a very big issue with stolen vehicles being brought into the country but do nothing about it

you tell me why, but the uk police and the garda have been well aware of the issue for years. ask yourself just how do so very many vehicles get re-registered in ireland without a genuine logbook. and so many irish plated vehicles sold back second hand to uk buyers.

its not even as if they always bother to change the vin numbers. it is politically inconvenient for both governments. car crime is big business and its not just the travelling community doing it and profiting

Seems a cr@p situation - it seems straightforward to stop he flow and prevent registration without logbooks - I wonder what they have got to loose?
