Hi Everyone

We have managed to wangle eleven days of holiday over Christmas and new year and we're looking to get away in the MH.Being newbies to motorhoming we would appreciate any suggestions as where to go and we don't mind whether it's the UK or abroad.

Thanks

Watching with interest because we were going to find somewhere with daughter and family (not using our MH this time) but they cant go anywhere now. Just the two of us are going to try to find somewhere and use MH in this country or abroad. The few rallies in Sussex and nearby counties are already booked and got waiting lists.

Cross to France then a leisurely ride along the coast staying on aires at Wissant, Le Crotoy, St Valery, Le Treport, Dieppe. There are more aires in between those mentioned like Le Touquet, Berck, Fort Mahon, Quend.
Check them out. Some have electricity some don't. Some are free, some aren't
Lots to see and not much driving to do. So much easier than the UK!

We're also looking for Xmas/ New Year, preferably UK.
We'd like something that is actually a bit Christmassy (having missed out on this for a few years) but NOT Christmas xxxxxx Markets! Ideally with a (warm) swimming pool too.
Any ideas on that?

There do seem to be quite a few threads asking about Xmas - maybe those of us 'lost' for somewhere to go could all meet up somewhere??? :D(y)

Wow! Now that's a brilliant-looking place Kim! Do you know how many EHUs they have? (A bit of a trek from here, but we do love Norfolk)

That looks really very nice indeed...if we didn't already have plans we would have been interested!

Is the Cornish sea not very warm at that time of year then @CWH...I'm sure once you're in it's just like a heated pool :D
We've thought about having a few days away but might see how the weather fares

From memory, I think there are 5 hook ups, but don't quote me. The facilities are excellent and we've had the swimming pool to ourselves on Xmas morning and a walk on the beach in the afternoon. It's dog friendly too and we've enjoyed drinks in the bar on Xmas eve with the pooches :)

Looks like a nice place but I don't think I would want to spend eleven days there!

Thanks for your suggestions.

What about skiing? has anyone been?
Do you think it's a little bit early in our motorhoming experiences to try?

Folk do ski but you need to be fully winterised. Or be prepared to drain everything down and use bottles and buckets. :)

Luckily our motorhome is winterized, I'm just a bit unsure wether we would need snow chains and what the road conditions would be like.
Hoping someone out there has some experience with travelling to France in the winter.

If you are traveling through the Pyrenees and there is snow you are required to have chains. It's a good precaution anyway.
