Apparently the tunnel is closed due to another incursion by migrants.
Are there any Funsters on the front line who can tell us what has happened without the media hysteria?

don't think its hysteria the size of camp reported at weekend to be expanding so these attempts and delays would increase I would think? pointless starting a new thread as @scousebird excellent update thread that remains dispassionate and factual keeps us up to date surely...

So we are almost certainly gonna make our booking for around the midnight time slot..
Would others do that or choose a different time to try and avoid 'issues' ?

Best idea would be to avoid tunel and cales all to gether
I didn't want thee stress so we are off hull zebuge.
Why are the French allowing this to happen
Bill

that's my view Bill..

boycott Calais.. the French would soon get it sorted if it hit their pocket.. as it is.. they have no incentive to do anything..

If this is still going on next year, which is most likely, depending on destination .. we'll go Harwich - Hook of Holland or perhaps Newhaven - Dieppe

btw.. nice avatar

Hi.
We came over from France on Sept.7th midight, not an illegal to be seen. The Dog check in was unmanned and open, and we wandered about with two other couples and walked to the manned booths to fetch someone over,no security in sight.

Ah shucks:)....next time you move maybe move to France? and avoid all the angst.

As an ex serviceman with several horrific sights blighting my memories, a few would be migrants present few fears.
However, some of us travel with young children on occasion.
There's more than one perspective of any given situation.
Why can't some people see the world from more than one blinkered perspective?

Here we go again.....Thought this about Eurotunnel service disruption.
Have no interest in discussing what I consider irrational fear with anyone.

Good idea on the Hull ferry but costly.
The French are allowing it because they hate us, they allow tyres to be set alight on motorways approaching the ferry/tunnel, they allow the camp, they allow fishermen to block Dover harbour, anything to upset us is fine by them.
It will never happen but if we stopped using the tunnel or the port they might, just might do something.

The disruption is more of an issue than who is causing it.
The tunnel has ceased to become the reliable means of crossing it once was.
Delays cause aggrivation when you only have a short holiday and tight schedule.
Not to mention parents getting in serious trouble when kids don't make it back to school on time.

I have to agree, it's nothing to do with hysteria. Just asking a question about how things are at the moment. Nothing wrong with that. I work in a school and cannot afford travel disruptions. I need to be back at work , on time , with the students that need my help so if there is a chance that the tunnel is closed I will make other arrangements. In that note I have booked the ferry from Poole this Easter as it only worked out £80 more expensive than the tunnel without the 4 hour drive back.....only a 5 minute one. No brainer.

If I was a major shareholder in the Chunnel, I would be a bit miffed !! that my business was constantly being disrupted by criminal activity on a regular basis.
It is clear that people have begun voting with their feet wheels and going elsewhere.

Makes you wonder if all these migrants are being funded by the ferry companies?
One recent 'migrant' had been spotted having appeared in Hamlet at the Barbican

I follow 'Eurotunnel' on Twitter and it's very useful to get a real time update on any issues they are having. If you have a smartphone it makes life easier to get the updates and also you can ask questions to them on the move.
