I would assume we are talking about two 140 watt panels which depending on quality etc would be £300+, a good MPPT regulator could be over £100 if not £150 plus cables entry box glands and brackets so you could be looking at, at least £450 or £500 for all the bits, the rest is for a qualified tech guy to put it all on the roof for you including a bit of VAT for George. If you can't do it yourself I would think it was OK.

Impossible to say whether it's a good price or not..

To do that you need a list of the components with make and model..
then you need to survey the van... length of cable run.. where and how it will be installed... etc etc

unfair to compare unless it is exactly the same installation using the same parts and materials.

That sounds a bit expensive 3-400 nearer the mark. If you go ahead do make sure you see examples of their work.
My mate had one fitted by the Doncaster Carthago dealer £500 for a 100w one after haggling, biggest bodge I've ever seen. Panel was stuck on the roof with great blobs of Sika mounted unevenly looked dreadful, they ignored the built in 6mm cables and wired it with 1.5 mm mains 3 core flex, fitted a 5 quid regulator.

The work would be done by a motor caravan dealer/company.
Unfortunately I won't know how to install .

Do you really need all that power, do you wild camp all the time , if you use hookup at all , don't think you would need all that.

I fitted my 120 W. German solar panel for under £200.00 The panel i got for about £140 of Ebay. (exact same panel is now over £600 ?). Connecting cables from Sargent, mounting brackets, box gland and glue made up the rest. Autotrail told me where to drill and Sargent told me how to make right connections (all snap fit). YouTube showed me how to install panel on roof. Take your time and you should be fine). I went to a local dealer and asked him to quote for doing the job with the parts I had purchased. He refused saying it would have to be all of his parts and estimated around £700 to complete.

Just had a new 140w panel fitted at a cost of 508€ , so about £390

The price included removing the old damaged panel, supply and fitting the new one including new regulator.

these are the stock questions you need to answer, seems expensive to me, I went awat last winter with one 120w panel and had no problem, maybe more storage leisure batterys is the way, your in the right place to ask

I've just fitted twin 130W panels along with a Schaudt MPPT regulator. Panels cost £190 (for both) from Germany. Regulator was £135 (but does charge van and hab battery so no split charger needed). 6mm cables cost another £30. Brackets and Sikaflex about £25. The dealer I bought the van from wanted £1200 to fit one 120W panel!!!! But they did fit the cables through the roof for free to keep the hab warranty intact! I've fitted one panel before on my first MH. The most difficult thing I found was knowing just how much Sikaflex to put on the brackets. A helper is also handy on a second ladder as the panels can be quite unweildy especially when the brackets have been Sikaflexed up and need to be positioned carefully.

What is a "Dual solar panel"?
I wonder if it's a single 140W panel with a dual output controller.

Turning to Spots' pricing question, I suspect a lot of dealer quotes will include a margin for them plus a margin for the sub-contractor they call in to actually do the job. No reason why it shouldn't & better than doing it themselves without someone who knows what they are doing. But if Spots doesn't fancy the DIY route it might be better to take it to someone who specialises in the job rather than a general motorhome dealership - unless he knows it's a speciality of theirs. Personally I would be much happier going to VanBitz or one of the other specialists with recommendations on here. See the Solar Power section for more info.

We would recommend Vanbitz as well. Our solar panel has meant a wonderful summer of rallys, including a week at Norden Farm without having to worry. It's all very well saying how easy it is but there are just as many posts recounting tales of woe when so called professionals make a mess up. It's only easy if you are good at that sort of thing, best to know my limitations I have found.

Another recommendation for Vanbitz. We had a solar panel and controller, second leisure battery ,and battery master fitted by them at a good price and funster discount. Plus their site is lovely too.(y)
