After 3100 miles we are into our last 30 miles. A stone breaks our window. I arrive home to a flat battery on my works van, smell a honk from kitchen to find freezer has defrosted. All food rotten
.. anything else to happen?

I reckon that's your lot, have you had a nice time away though.

Windscreen on insurance, battery should charge up hopefully and looking on the bright side with the freezer it won't need defrosting for a while.

Actually check your house insurance re contents of freezer.

On and off for many years.
Sure all will be well now.....

Van window and freezer contents on insurance and the flat battery on the works van is a simple fix.

Looking forward to catching up with you.

Odd that!
Yesterday H's iPhone adopted a frozen screen, no obvious solution until we get home.
We got back to the van last night and the battery failed, it was on borrowed time but still inconvenient.
Now I'm looking at a locked screen on the Kindle. I've tried moderate violence and threats but it won't respond.I'm not superstitious and I do like technology.....but there are some days!!!!!

canna help with the iPhone thing .. but the Kindle..

  1. Press and hold the Power button for a full 40 seconds.
After the first 6 to 8 seconds, the screen will go blank, which is normal. Continue holding thePower button.

  2. After the 40 seconds, release the Power button.
The charge indicator light will turn on after a few seconds.

And if that doesn't work throw it out of the window and stamp on it. It still won't work but you will feel better. :)

Things happening in 3's !!!
Tell me about it . . . . . . . In the last week we've found we need to replace our solar panel on the van, the dishwasher has packed up, and the bath, which rarely gets used because we prefer the shower, has sprung a leak from the waste pipe.
No wonder my whisky consumption has gone up

Since 2008 & many years tugging
When we go away in the van normally the only things that go wrong are the things I break or drive into, not so this time.
So far fridge packed up on gas, but did manage to sort it, water pump packed up, but of course I had a spare, both leisure batteries appear to have had it and the van is only 18 months old. Also my good lady put a hot saucepan on the worktop & marked it, made worse when she said these tings happen why worry about it, now if I had done it I'd be ducking from the stream of abuse and getting a lecture on not to be so clumsy and think before you do things.
To cap it all when swapping the full loo cassette for the spare this morning I managed to catch the pressure release button and get poo slurry all over me and the garage floor.
Then there is Greece having it's worst weather for a hundred years and I'm still enjoying myself, just need to work out why.:)

Thanks for that, I've tried it but no response from the screen after minutes of holding the power button.
I'm waiting for the power to run down and hope it will reset then. If not I'll follow Puddleduck's suggestion:

And if that doesn't work throw it out of the window and stamp on it.

Anyway, thanks both!
