Im a newbie
Keen as mustard me. So I try to order and pay for my ACSI membership for 2016 well I think about it .

So I go onto the website and find the only methods of payment are

PAYMENT METHODS
SEPA Incasso
Mister Cash
SEPA Incasso
iDEAL
Creditcard

We have none of the above.... So where can I buy it with either a debit card or cash ?

Would like to get it sorted so I can get the App loaded onto my Phone and I pad ...

Cheers ..

Probably no good to you if you want the membership before you set off, but we hadn't joined when we went to France & Spain in March this year but we found that the site at Caceres in Spain actually sold the books at Reception. Turned out a good deal too as the exchange rate was in our favour as we paid in Euro's and it worked out a couple of quid cheaper.
Anyone else ever seen them on sale at other sites?

Go on their website and i think they will take debit cards!
Yes you can recoup the cost in one week on sites in Spain, Portugal and France!

None of my business but not a great idea to use a Debit Card on-line. Rather use a Credit Card and if anything goes wrong, it's the bank's money you've spent, not yours. Try getting a Debit Card payment/cloned payment refunded and you could be in for a long wait.

Yes it will save you lots in off season but we always ask when booking if it's the cheapest rate as some sites do it even cheaper especially for longer stays.
Worth every penny IMO

ACSI used to be an absolute essential for us..
Then last year, every site we went to and flashed the card we got the same result..
Yes, we do take ACSI members, but it is cheaper if you do not use it.
The overnight prices have now reached a point where we no longer have ACSI membership.. Everywhere we went there was cheaper places than in the books..
Speaking to a few folk we met up with in the Lake District a couple of weeks ago, it seems we are not the only ones who have found this.
Sad really as I was always a big fan and would advocate membership to one and all..
Nowadays I cannot, with all good conscious, say the same

We have more than covered our costs just using it in the UK this year. Its cheaper to get it direct from acsi than vicarious books but you dont get it until the end of december. Might be worth emailing them Charlie and asking if either accept debit cards. Probably worth getting a credit card for travel abroad even if you never use it, handy for emergencies. Also if you breakdown on French motorways the fee is about €250 and you have to pay by credit card or cash.

We have never been on an ACSI site where the ACSI price for a 1/2 night stay has been the same or dearer than the standard price, long term stays particularly in Spain can be much cheaper.

We are in France at the moment at Du Futur, Avanton ACSI -€16, standard €18.70. Next planned stop ACSI €14, standard(special offer) - €16. Not massive savings but they mount up.

In Spain the savings can be even more marked, one year we spent Easter at El Rocio, one of the few sites in Spain where Easter is not high season rates, using ACSI which saved us a few hundred euros over the prices at other sites.

Still well worth having!

We bought this year's book and have only used it once. We're off again in December but probably won't use then either as most sites will be closed.

Don't think we'll bother again.

Denise

PS @Charlie - mastercard can be either debit or credit card (I have both)

Not being funny, but the payment methods sound a bit odd, Vicarious books are the best place to get from, its in english, & their payment scheme allows debit card. The 2016 book doesn't come out till December 10th, but can be delivered abroad.

As mentioned we decided not to get the latest, but going though this years, albeit briefly and not checking all pages ) almost all the sites are 16 €, which I am guessing have gone up to 17 € now.
Given we rarely pay more than 12 - 14 € per night I stand by my original assessment

"Long Term" is the clue!
The ACSI price is more for stays of one week or less in which case substantial savings are to be had - if however you take advantage of the camp sites long term discounts then that is a different story altogether

We simply go on cheaper sites !
Sure, using ACSI on an expensive site will always be cheaper, but it is amazing how often we find sites very close that are considerably cheaper than an ACSI one

Cheapest way to get ACSI is by a recurring annual payment method i.e. Direct Debit direct from their site. They also dispatch beginning of December as you get the first deliveries.

Although we don't specifically target ACSI sites, we've easily saved the cost.
