help needed please....

We've travelled along the coast from Nice and are now near Agde. We've been looking for an area which is not built up in the hope of being able to take our dog on the beach and swim with him.

Is this a pipe dream or do such beaches exist?

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Go to the free aire between Agde& Sete. The beach immediately infront of the aire is 'no dogs' but if you speak to the life guards they will allow you to take dogs on the beach - approx 200 m towards agde. Been doing it for years.

The aire is likely to be busy, but worth a wait for a space.

Thanks Nigel and Debbie

We've parked up at an ACSI site which has direct access to the beach and he's had a swim! Apparently due to the time of year it's ok. We haven't been told to get him off so far!

You'll find quite a few but they are generally located either at either end of the village/town, or an odd bit in the middle where there's a 'gap' in the resort/houses etc. Best bet is the tourist info offices who should be able to tell you, politely, where to go!

I should think you'd be fine on most public beaches when it's "out of season". And it is France, most dog rules go out the window :) Used to take mine to the one N&D mentioned above. Huge strip of beach and mostly deserted during the week (out of summer)

We've just left that area and had no problems on most beaches in the evenings. We're currently a little north of Agde.
