Took all the press studed carpets out of the van today and the loose mats for a deep clean with our machine.

The loose mats we have are supposed to be carpet on carpet so should not move around. They have a rubber back.
But they do fidget around and move all over the place so in the bin for them.

So we are now looking for a couple of replacements and maybe a runner..

So advice on the mats with the correct backing and where to buy would be great !

Thanks

If your "under" carpet has any sort of pile then I would imagine that allmats or covers on top will wander. We took the fitted carpet out and just had a few loose mats on the vinyl, easier to take out and shake and then brush the vinyl than fussing about with the fitted carpet. The fitted carpet goes back in (all nice and clean) when we sell the van :)

The moroccan matting man had machine washable mats and runners at Malvern. Cheap and do the job. £10 for a runner and £5 for a mat.

Argos have a good choice of cheap machine washable "runner" mats - we use these in two sizes combined with Turtlemats. Only downside of Turtlemats is they are heavy for the washing machine, take a long time to dry plus not cheap!

we had the same problem no matter what mats ( and beleive me we had a few) I bought they all moved around on top of the carpet, We now removed the carpet and just have mats and runners that can be easily thrown in the washing machine

Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
Dunelm mill usually have cheap washable mats in various sizes.
Yes these are what we've got in Pug. We bought 2 , cutting one of them down a bit to fit. They are very similar to an expensive one I got for our back room, that soaks up the dogs wet paws off the patio. Like an absorbable cotton. We went for a brown and black mottled one. Rubber backed so they don't slip on the Lino.

We have a couple of dogs, so cut some vet bed down into suitable size shapes. Cheap and easy, and can be washed in the washing machine.
And they don't move around. (y)

We don't have a dog.. Will look at the ones in Dunelm.. Some of you mention rubber backs but that's what we have just now and they slip and slide all over the place..

We use the thin rubber-backed 'dirt trapping' ones. The ones we bought come in large sizes (think entrance areas of public buildings) and were bought second-hand off eBay. They are ex-commercial use mats and, because they're cheaper than new, can be cut to fit. We got them because experience of the couple we have at home is that they do dry-off feet (and paws) very quickly and they do trap dirt. They're also very pleasant to walk on. We got ours here:

Grade A are the ones to go for - they look like new.

We have just replaced ours with large carpet squares (18" X 18" very easy to fit , they don't move ad if you spill something on them they are easy to replace, and very hard wearing.
