We leave on Saturday for a longish trip to France and Spain. We're keen badminton players and would like to play while we're away. Does anyone know whether we might find courts for public use in a similar way to local sports centres in the UK?

We've spent time on the Costa Blanca and badminton is not a popular sport with the Spanish. Could give you details of two clubs that meet a few times a week at Guardamar and at Pilar de la Horrodada

Thanks @Clickem We're hoping to find places where we can rent a court for an hour occasionally and also wondering whether it's worth taking our racquets with us. Decisions about what we take with us are dominating our every waking moment just now. ;)

In Spain, unless you are in an area with a high population of Northern Europeans you will not find Badminton courts in leisure centres

Dont recall seeing anything like this advertised in France, but I did live a bit out in the boonies.
Major cities must have sports centres with gym etc... but not seen anything in Dordogne or Midi Pyrenees.

Second vote for Guardamar De Sagura.. We met some Brits there who invited us to their Badders club.
About 30 players on 6 courts rotated around for about 3 hours, varying standards. Great fun. Two badminton racquets and a tube of Yonex blue plastic shuttles takes up very little room and you can have a knock about outside, wind permitting. Enjoy..
