Hadn't long left Moreton on Marsh when I heard something scraping along the road from underneath so pulled over to have a look (n).

We'd been speared in the bin by a 3ft copper earthing rod that must have fell off the back of a lorry :mad:.

Got off lightly I reckon...just an extra drain hole :rolleyes:.

Wow yes, could have been much worse, I take it that isn't a water tank?

It's one of the pull out storage bins that fortunately I only use to keep ramps, bucket and fill up hose.

many many years! since I was a kid
wow lucky you were not riding a bike or it was not projected out higher puncturing the radiator etc

Very lucky I'd say, you could well have ended up with an extra ar@e hole.
I've seen a piece of wood pierce the floor pan and punch through the drivers seat of a car before now. A piece of steel could have been disastrous.

It's quite scary thinking about the possibilities. If the storage locker which hangs quite low hadn't been there it could have hit the rear tyre :coffee:.
