As we are crossing Hull Zeebrugge it is not practical to fill the fridge before crossing.
Any advice on a good supermarket twixt there and Cologne?
Cant go anywhere near town centre due to emissions and I believe I have to stick to the major route to the Stelplatz to comply with tourist exemption for our vehicle.

To clarify the exemption!
Unlike London where if your van does not comply, rather than just F U off
the Germans give an exemption to vehicles that cannot comply as long as they stick to the route. So you can visit the Cathedral etc with a modest walk from the Stelplatz rather than being Ostracised

You will pass Carefour about 7km out of Zeebrugge.
The turn off for Brugge/Blankenberge turn towards Brugge
300 mts rounabout turn left Carefour is on the right just after Decathlon.
Loads of parking for Motorhome

Currently I still have the bodge that makes it work fine.
Parts are on order with the intention of it being restored to design.
Just now I have it pulled forwards to enable the remedial work but if I don't get a date soon that fits before the 19th I will have to put it back and wait until next month.
Fingers crossed as I would like to use my two weeks to prove it is repaired to my satisfaction

Techno were off to Germany/Austria on Friday and note the above comment, regarding emissions I thought your van was only a couple of years old (euro 5) I think, like my own van
My van is also on a 4250kg, like yours, will this cause any problems within Germany (how would they know it's not a 3500kg)
I would be grateful for any info regarding above

This just prompted me to check LEZ compliance.
I did this 3 yrs ago and it came up NON compliant.
Just now the LEZ states my van is COMPLIANT WTF? Have things changed?

ref fridge on ferry, I am sure I have read that if you ask nicely you can get a 240V hook up on board, that might relate to Spanish crossings, but might be worth an ask, probably best before you turn up with a fridge / freezer full :D

have fun, look forward to reports of your trip (y)

2008 fiat is it not euro 4 ?
Google says you are correct (y)

The three power units fitted to the New Ducato have been designed in accordance with criteria of the greatest rationality, efficiency and reliability. They’re capable of outstanding performance that translates into reduced fuel consumption and emissions (they are all Euro 4), lower noise levels (due to the multipoint injection system); improved comfort (fewer alternating masses for fewer vibrations), and a satisfying drive (due to the very smooth torque delivery, which is guaranteed in turn by the possibility of improved control of combustion).

Not worth the risk as even a lead plugged in is no assurance that it will be live throughout the crossing

Andy we have the IVECO 3 l in ours same block as yours, as 2005 it should be euro 3 but I sent a copy of V5 to the TUV sud people and it came back with a Green euro 4 sticker as they just looked at the registration date I guess.

We are heading back up towards Zeebrugge for the 26th so might see you on the way.

Re the Umwelt
Google finds it to be very easy to request a badge online (TUV website) but I may have left it too late.
However I have no intention of going into town centres so I'll give it a miss.

My 2005 Fiat Ducato 2.3 JTD was issued a Yellow 3 Umwelt sticker when I applied recently. On our spring trip to Germany (including Cologne and Munich) I just followed the SatNav and may have strayed into green zones now and again, with no consequences at the time. However I'm led to believe they're tightening up on compliance so I'll need to be more careful on the next trip.
