Hi All
Need some advice please
Just got a converted Omni CVE to play about with and a couple of questions
1) Thinking of fitting a diesel generator, but what kW output would I need?
2) Are the headlamps compatible with any other vehicle?
3) Anyone got a spare dash board to sell?
Cheers

Hello and welcome, I would look at solar rather than a generator (free to run and does not upset the neighbours)

Whilst we do have a generator, the times you can use them responsibly are extremely limited. Solar is a much better option. With a decent set up with an inverter you'd be sorted.

Hi Guys
Many thanks for the warm welcome from all of you.
I look forward to reading posts and maybe even join in occassionally, but at the moment I know more about home brewing and horology than motor homes.
Cheers

Welcome! Solar panels & Gaslow/Gas It refillable bottles are all you need instead of a generator - very cheap too after the initial outlay (y)

Problem is, I will be using through the winter with no hook up, so how can I get 240v supply without a generator during winter, as I Solar's have poor performance in low light conditions?

Hi Trotty.
Welcome to the club.
Don't ask me how we do it. But we do. All to do with good batteries , inverters B2B's a compressor fridge etcetc.
I just spect to flick a switch and it work . Haha.
Ralphs deals with all the technical electrickery side if it................ Look on the search engine on here. There'll be loads of useful info for you.
All I know is we don't have hook up, yet we can watch TV, use a proper hairdryer and ghd's etc. Even in the depths of winter.
Ralphs converting our PVC . We bought a new Peugeot xlwb van . You might find his build link interesting. There's bits in it showing the things he's used like Solars and inverters etc.
