Anyone into VW vans. There is a show on at the three county's showground Malvern this weekend. The show used to be called Vanfest now called Busfest and is the biggest VW van show in Europe. Fully booked a long time ago but you can still go for the day. Huge for sale area, trade stands etc, buy anything from a spark plug to a fully converted VW.

I've had three Type 2 vans.... Two caught fire and the other one s engine blew up. Still love 'em but you end up married to them because they are so demanding what with the bodywork and all. Had a type 5 as well with DSG gearbox and that was brilliant. Thanks for the heads up. Might go, if I can sneak out.;)

a good old aircooled t2 was as good off road as a landrover . in fact had better ground clearance than the landrover 101.
with a limited slip diff they were great .
i also had a synchro t25 but preferred the t2 .
possibly the most world travelled vans of all time they are world famous for getting there .

We have had a 1301 Beetle and 2 type 2's, luckily none caught fire or blew up. The last T2 we had for about 8 years and it succumbed to the inevitable tin worm that had to be constantly cut out and welded together. Great fun though. Never got to vanfest although we used to get invites every year.

I know its a typo error alan.....1300 , 1302 and 1303 ( have one:) ).....Never a 1301(y)
Fat fingers! It was a 1303 with the padded dash and curved windscreen. Top speed of 70, once I had the loose steering sorted. One of only 2 cars I ever sold at a profit!

Yep had the same never stuck in either but the T25 shod with Vedesteins, vacuum diff locks front and rear and a viscous coupling was more or less unstoppable. Kept it for eight years.

I've got a Miami Blue, 1975 VW 1303 - 1600 CC. 75 was the last year of the 1303 and came with rack and pinion steering. Will never sell her;)
