Most ferries it is 47kg of gas max of 3 cylinders that must be adequately secured.
Every country has it's own gas bottles and they are not interchangeable, re-fillable cylinders are the best option if traveling through various countries, depends how much gas you use.

Going for that time probably worth investing in at least one re-fillable if not a couple. In September when the heating is not used much we use about 0.6 -0.7 kg a day, we don't use sites and like a hot shower every morning.

Hi Marvic , I've just done a 6 week tour of France and used just over 2 11kg bottles of gas ( refillable system ) . I have a solar panel and only used hook up once to charge mains only items . I could have saved some gas by using the included electric hook up on some Aires but I couldn't be bothered to get the cable out !
The fridge had to work overtime with the heat and we used lots of hot water for showers and cooked in the van ( hob only ) .
Good luck and enjoy your trip (y)

I'm sure there are regs.but in 8yrs no one has ever asked anything about gas on ferries-so,you could probably carry as many as you like (that is not a recommendation, but my own personal observation)-but they are heavy :)
The best bet is either refillable bottles (Gaslow or other) or,our preference,a fixed tank. We have a 40ltr tank and can refill at any garage selling LPG (GPL) .

You can get free bottles from Supermarket Chains (we use Super U) in France, you need only pay for the gas. You will then need to buy a French regulator from a Brick o Mat or some such. It is then simply a matter of finding the nearest Super U (there are hundreds) when you need a refill.
We have a tee piece with a Calor regulator and a French one piped together, we simply swap between them.

Two 6 kgs last us about 8 weeks in Spain in the winter. Think most is used on heating. BUSBY.
