Thinking of purchasing and installing a 125cc scooter at the rear of our N+B Arto 760. With a view to accessing village / town centres in France, collecting provisions etc.
Any recommendations on racks, scooters, and general things to consider ?
We currently have a Tow bar fitted to a lateral bar, also a cycle rack in the way.

I would consider the amount of overhang from the rear axle and the weight of the scooter, you could be easily overloaded on the rear axle

If you have the capacity to carry one and the licence to ride one they are fantastic and open up a new and exciting form of exploring places you'd normally never go. We've been carrying a 650cc bike for the last 8 years and its fantastic although we are now considering down grading to a 250cc scooter since getting electric bikes.:)
If you can do it go for it but it will eat into payload.(y)

Off to Croatia next Friday for 6 or 7 weeks think it'll be last trip for the Versys. Hardly been used on last few trips and a big lump to carry not to use.

Not long enough, but a little common sense helps..........
We have a scooter ( Honda 125PCX ) on a bike rack. The past 4 years not used it as much as we thought, so on returning to Spain next month will remove it and buy 2 x eBikes ( folding perhaps ).
We will get back the 135Kg we lost and use that for more solar power. The new eBikes these days are far lighter and go further so will become fitter and save on fuel.

I'd rebuilt a 250B just before realising that the 350B was exactly the same weight but with more power.
So I had bought and rebuilt 2 RD's with in 7 months.

They are bloody good! I've fell in love with mine.
The front brakes is the only problem, I need to find some better pads - or some thicker soles for mi boots!

We have a Honda Vision on the back of our Pilote with an Easylifter**. Great little bike - 110cc, approx 95 kilos. Neither hubby nor I are lightweights but this little bike gets us around very nicely.
N.B. ** It's a 2 man job to get it on and off the Easylifter - not that you need to be strong, it's just to steady it whilst the arm is put over and ratchet straps are attached.

Love my Honda anf125 Innova. Cruises happily at 50 mph, does 140+ mpg and costs buttons to insure and tax. I tow it on a side loading trailer as with it on a scooter rack on a large overhang, the back axle is overloaded.
