Don't be so indifferent get your bums into gear and go to one!(y):D

Seriously though, never thought it was for me, now, keep going to as many as I can, met some great people, nice, quiet, loud (guilty), genuine, mardarses, funny, serious, not so serious, helpful etc, etc the problem for me is finding the time to stay at home now and again to get some other stuff done.

The bigger rallies tend to be full on and can get a bit noisy if you pitch near the Marquee, but you can always park further away, some of the smaller rallies give you more opportunity to get to know others a bit more easily. I parked next to the Marquee at Malvern and wasn't disturbed at all by the noise, probably because I was always in there and often helping in making it!!

There is a rally to suit everyone's tastes, if you like peace quiet and temporary isolation, try the non rally, rally at Shell Island, in September, if you like music, laughter and merriment try Lincoln in September and if you like to be parked up behind a neat hedge watching the lawn mowers go by, with the toilets often closed for cleaning and no noise, or anything else after 10pm........ join the Caravan Club:LOL:

Funster rallies are whatever you want them to be.

You can join in the merriment, go to bed early, talk to your neighbours, close the blinds and read a book, stand outside your van with a screwdriver scratching your head and be inundated with offers of help, share a bottle of wine with friends you've just made, learn to play or rekindle your passion for making music, make friends walking the dog....the list is endless!

Everyone's idea of FUN is different but no-one will ever make you do something you don't want to do :)

We really enjoy the funster meets, be they at shows or in a field or wherever

Why ?
Well put simply as pos, you can either join in what is going on or give it a miss and no one thinks any different of you.
Sometimes we LOVE to socialise and enjoy all the company.. there are occasions when one or both of us have simply not felt like it at all and maybe just grabbed a bacon roll on Sunday morning and done nowt else..

Cannot speak for everyone of course but I would guess that more than 90% of all funsters are warm, friendly and welcoming ( even to a headache like me LOL !! )

If you do get to a meet, you will soon find out if you want to join in or just chill out on your own .. If you do enjoy it ( as we do usually ) then you have gained a whole new perspective and had a good time ..
If you do not feel comfy and prefer to do your own thing, well as said, no one will think ill of you, you have lost not a lot and still had a weekend away in your pride and joy :)

We broke our rally cherry at Newbury this year, definitely worth it, met lots of people, and finally put faces to the Forum Names.
We didn't get involved as much as we would have liked to, but our little one was very tired. So we will definitely be heading to more. Just need to get the van back now! :D

You need to go to three which are completely different types of rallies before you decide...... some are fun, some are interesting (walking, swimming, etc) and some are downright miserable if you get the wrong people there... can't be perfect all the time can we... :)

Then decide which type you like and come along more often.. look forward to seeing you.

Our first meet was Hagnaps small meet at the Bowling Green early last year and I must say we were very apprehensive but all our worries were unfounded.:) We were first there and nearly every one came and introduced theirselves to us as they arrived.(y)
We have not looked back since and have attended about ten meets since then and met some fantastic people:rolleyes: to numerous to name, looking forward to @hagnaps meet this weekend at Wrenbury.
Whats not to like, give it a try you have nothing to loose.:)

I would probably enjoy a small meet and passing the time of day outside my MH but my OH would hate any kind of meeting so I wouldn't put him through it. I suppose that's why I'm on here and he's not, I'm more sociable but I hate the thought of sitting in a crowded, noisy marquee or taking part in any organised events.

It's not like that at all. Bring your chair, sit in a circle round the campfire and let the rally organiser start a fun evening of a sing song and party games. Oh what fun.

In the years BF (before Fun) everything I knew about clubs, rallies & the people who went on them made me want to run in the opposite direction.

Then, while doing some research for a new M/H, I discovered & then joined this site. I started to realise that here were a group of people that I might actually enjoy spending time with.

Funsters are interesting to talk to. They are welcoming without being pushy. They arrange things to do that are fun rather than tedious & then they don't mind if you don't want to do them too. You don't have to 'fit in', you just be yourself with a group of other people just being themselves.

Rallies & meets are not for everyone & this site is worth being a member of just for the technical information that it provides. But don't dismiss funster rallies on the basis of prior assumptions or past experience elsewhere. The rallies at the big shows do have a crowded noisy marquee & can appear overwhelming, but there are quiet areas away from the marquee & you don't have to go anywhere near it in the evening, but they do do a mean bacon butty on a Sunday morning.

You speak for yourself!

Ok, the drug of choice may be alcohol, but funsters can still rock & roll with the best of 'em - in front of & behind the mics.

You may be right about the sex though. Either that or they make the suspension firmer on vans these days. Not seen all that many rocking.

 I can only speak from experience , in many years of caravaning and then the motorhome , we have. Been in all the clubs CC. CCC. MCC. Never got interested or the enthusiasm for joining in with one or two of there rally's. Then started rallying with Fun, a completely different ball game and well worth a try. Then you will see why many go the rally's are fully booked with a waiting list.

what happens on rallies? anything that you and someone else wants to happen within reason or behind drawn curtains, hee hee.
Socialising, BBQ's, drinking, walking, going out on your own or in company. All at a reduced rate for camping and usually in a lovely area with plenty to explore, lots go out all day and meet in the marquee for drinks in the evenings but your choice, no pressure, it is not Butlins.
Hi de Hi campers.
