Hi all

If we want to put a second battery and solar panel on the motorhome do we need to replace the battery that is on as well as get a new one so they are both the same age? or can we just buy one and it work ok?

Thanks

Would have thought that you would need to get two batteries or the old one might draw from the new one but I'm sure someone will be along shortly to put you right. (y)

Not long enough, but a little common sense helps..........
How old is your original battery and what size is it? - have you ever discharged it below 12.2volts ?

Old school will say you need to replace it with two new ones........ but without details cannot comment more.

Hi there... I installed a 100 watt solar panel which is connected to one of these Broken Link Removed a dual battery charger. The two batteries are connected to the charger are both of bog standard 95Ah sealed Varta batteries installed a year apart. The batteries supply 1.2 kw static invertors Broken Link Removed which gives us easily a full evening of power for our TV and satellite receiver. System has been installed two years now working like a dream.
You may want to look at www. aliexpress.com where you may find them even cheaper.
Hope this helps.
