i thought it was normal to have a tent on the roof . ha ha .
yes it was a roof tent like jim mentioned . brownchurch landrovers one .
but went well on my vw or bongo. not so sure on having a tent on the trailer knocking in the pegs might cause a problem if it rained . ha ha

maggiolina or the columbus are very nice . but expensive .
the one i have actually is the one that is in some of the brownchuch advert pics. it was the first one of this style as i was in a hurry for one they took it off their show landrover . great bit of kit . in fact if you open the front and back even in africa its very cool up there . amazing how much draft there is at that height.

Once saw a campingcariste erecting an awning and hammering in rock pegs into the tarmac floor here...nobody blinked an eyelid....the French aren't bound by our H&S rules etc....probably opened another bottle of wine I think.

As an aside (ScotJ)....we were at Mimizan plage (again) on our way back from wintering in Spain and met our good friends Alan & Sylvia from Cornwall / Leeds who remember you fondly.

regards

Allen & Eileen

'tis true,.. the French don't give a fig for rules.. there was a van at Mimizan with a full safari room erected.. now that is taking the piss
