I looked at going down the line of ex hire with all the toys........cheap but had 16,000 miles @6 months old. 7k under list price at time.

But inexperienced drivers/users had taken its toll on the van along with the possibility of between 30 and 40 different people sleepng in the fixed bed before us put us off and we bought new.

6month old van more or less used full time with inexperienced drivers takes its toll.

Great savings if you want to go down that line.

Our first van was ex hire had 42,000 on the clock but still had a years warranty left on it, these vehicles are built to do do high mileage, also usually all the snags have been sorted out, Just Go was the guys we bought from good customer service from them.

As it is an Italian built van you will probably be able to buy a brand new one in Germany a lot cheaper than an Ex-loan one in the UK.

Loan vans get a hard life if you do decide to investigate further check very carefully for signs of repaired damaged. I've seen several vans on hire with lockers & side skirts torn off, they tend to get a lot more damage due to being driven by drivers unaccustomed to driving a larger vehicle. Also seen hire vans being moved between depots at 90 mph on the motorway i.e they get well thrashed. Another problem clutches get very badly treated.

External damage is fairly easily repaired, but internal cabinet damage you will have to live with, parts can be replaced at a high cost and long delivery times.

We bought a new Roller team 200 family three years ago and it was brilliant, nothing went wrong and we did 13,000 miles in two years, I would highly recommend them, also the dealers Davan Weston Super Mare.
Because we wanted more room to relax in we have just changed and have bought a new Chausson 610 Flash which we are very pleased with, the electric bed works well and gives us lots of room , the garage is fantastic for bikes etc. and so far all is great. We have done 4,000 miles and are just off to the continent again.
Best of luck with your purchase sure all will be well.

Apparently all these models are sold, certainly the local dealer has sold out, I would think that it will be some time before any are available second hand especially the way ours is performing.

Our 1st van was ex-hire (but they didn't admit it!!! ) bought on a private sale. Was a chausson flash3 and was fine with a few minor repairs nothing major. It had done 38k in 3 years bought for 22k traded in for 20.5k 2 years later against our best of 10. If you like the look of the 610 look at a flash 10/ best of 10/510 don't have the big garage but from there forward just the same must be a few around secondhand now.
