We only popped out to look at some awnings... but I couldn't resist a look around the used motorhomes and came across this lovely example of a 2007 B544 at just £31.499.

Just 24k on the clock and spotless. Ginny loved it as you can clearly see. We left and couldn't stop talking about it so today contacted them to see what they might offer for our 2002 B544 Classic on a part ex. 14k was the answer , can't let our beloved van go for that. So yes, wished I hadn't seen this :(.

Does look cool, maybe they will up their offer?

Lin :)

That's a good point Lin, not had any dealings with dealers as we bought our current van private. Perhaps they would budge a bit but I know I should be looking at about 18k for our Hymie.

You could always see what you could get privately for your van.
It's always worth a try.

That's a very good price, particularly for a dealer - trade in value is poor for sure, I guess cost to change is about 'right'.

I have however, seen a few damaged ones come up for sale, that must ultimately be repaired and sold on....

Considering the screen price, I'd give it a blooming good look over to ensure it's all ok...

Good looking van in the pics though !

not long enough
it is all about the price to change really, if theirs is cheaper than you expected they are bound to offer you less, sell yours privately (with associated hassle) then you will have a decent deal

or work out how much more than yours you think it is worth and offer them that, they may say yes (y)

Go on, fight for it. Drive in with yours tell them they need to close the gap and you will do a deal. But be prepared to drive away again if you aren't happy.
I love a good haggle. Looks a nice van.....

I wouldn't get hung up on the part exchange offer.

It's how much you have to add that is important.

So, if you think yours is worth £5k more, offer them £5k less for theirs.

Your probably right, cost to change about right, if they close the gap a bit more then maybe...I didn't give it a really good look over as we had no notion last Thursday we would consider it later! I actually mostly went in to check out the quality because of the stories I'd heard about poor workmanship and quality issues around abouts this year on Hymers. I have to say, I couldn't find fault.

It's interesting they give me a quote without even seeing ours! It's too old for there forecourt but suggests they would have no trouble moving it on.

I would go back with your van and show interest. Get them to move on one or both! You may just be lucky!

Are you sure she's a 2002 model??? mines 2002 and looks a lot later than her.

View attachment 71767

Quite sure, I have the original bill of sale from Campirama in Belgium when she was a personal import for the first owner. The B544 Classic was re-introduced for a few years on customer demand for what was a cheaper model for one thing, it doesn't have a double floor for example, not Alko chassis but Fiat etc. In most other respects the same, in fact the later interior and dashboard than some 2000 to 2003 'normal' B544's.
