Apart from the Moho, this is our only option for toilet duties and showering.
It's minging !

Busy site, constant queue, don't know if last occupant was showering or shi*ing

It stinks ( as busy communal crappers usually do )
Then when showering...
You're looking at it the whole time ( fear perhaps ) while washing, terrified of the towel going anywhere near it when drying....

With two kids under 10, you can imagine how much fun this is....

Otherwise a nice site - won't be returning though

Have seen much worse England and abroad and better than just a hole in the ground where the bomb aiming was way off target .
That's why we use the vans facilities :)

Invest in one of those £20 shower heads on sale at shows.. Still cannot believe how effective they are and how little water they use !
Ecocamel? I agree they are great. We never use the shower Blocks when we stay on campsites - much prefer our own facilities, because we know who has used them..

So far, we've been spoilt this trip with outstanding facilities at every site so far....

This site is about 50euros per night (cheap for area, Italian coast resort).
It has over 1000 pitches (touring, statics) I just expected a bit better, certainly had better at 15euro municipal sites...

Would certainly stick to the vans bathroom if it wasn't for all the sand we keep accumulating !

Ugh !! Don't fancy using that one bit.

Just googled ecocamel shower heads.

Where's the best place to get one from please ?

Didn't have to worry too much about saving water with the Rv

but its a bit different with the autotrail.(y)

Tbf, they appear clean and cleaners are working around the clock...

I haven't found any 'logs' on the floor (have seen this before) so it could be worse...
But the smell.... It's just not *clean*

I think I've talked myself out of using them again - have just emptied the grey waste and topped up the fresh tank... Gonna use mine for the rest of the stay :)(y)

I bought mine direct from Ecocamel's own website. You want the "E" version which is designed for lower pressures.

I went to quite an expensive site in the South of France a few years back.

Really smart facilities but my God you should have seen the toilets first thing in the morning.

My stomach turns just thinking about it.

Some people ( kids I hope) are disgusting.

Although nothing will ever top a bar toilet I went into in Corfu many years back

There was puke and excrement completely covering the walls of the whole gents toilets.

I walked in , did a double take and walked straight back to where my girlfriend was sitting.

We then spent an hour watching men's reactions as they walked in and straight back out.

Beats karaoke for entertainment

Luxury! We have been in far worse. It's not that bad though, Wear flip flops ( and the kids) and get them towelling dressing gowns with hoods. Out of the shower, still wearing flip flops, into dressing gown and away.
That's what we used to do when we had no option but to use campsite facilities.
But, when you have spent a fortune on a motorhome with its own toilet and bathroom, why would you ever use anyone else's toilet and shower facilities?

I take your point regarding the use of campsite facilities when

you have your own on board but we've found there's not

enough water to shower one after the other so it's

usually me that nips off to the shower block. Probably

my wife spends far too much time in the shower so it's her

fault !!!

I'm hoping the Ecocamel E shower head will give me a

fighting chance !!

John, you can't use a motorhome shower like a normal house shower. Instead you should turn it one and wet yourself all over. Then switch off and soap up all over. Then turn back on and rinse soap off.

We call them navy showers as that's what our daughter has to do when on ship.

Although the hymers tanks are bigger so with a camel shower head we can both have showers all weekend.

We've been spoiled by the amount of water we could use with the Rv so we'll just have to adjust.......Especially my wife !!!

As daft as it sounds it's a different way of motor homing and we're both looking forward to it so if I appear to ask daft questions then please bear with me.:D

With us its not so much the amount of water in the tank, as much as the amount in the boiler. The Truma boiler only stores about 10 litres (about 2 gallons) of hot water. If you use too much the second one has a cold shower or a 20 minute wait.

Why would you use the campsite facilities when all you need is on board your motorhome? OK, you have to wipe out the bathroom after a shower but surely this is a small price to pay for the stinky alternative. Much easier, too, than traipsing off with washbag and towels to join a queue. Hope you get things sorted.

I have to say, I am at the first site that I would ever even consider using the shower facilities, currently stopped in Venice, well just outside, and the shower block is the most luxurious I have ever seen. I will still probably use my own bathroom, but it is the first I have seen where inhale even considered the possibility of using the facilities!
