Have heard of many cases where the gas regulator has failed and needed replacing.

Could these items not be 'repaired'?

As they are purely a mechanical device, would a dunking in petrol or some other
cleaning cleaning agent not remove any internal sticky gunge?

Hi
There are lots of places where you can take a gauge and have it repaired, calibrated or serviced but I would reckon with a one off item it would be as cost effective to buy a new one.

Dont think that I would dunk a gas regulator in petrol or any other cleaning fluid. If its bust get it fixed properley for safety sake.

.

Once upon a time you could open and clean but I think nowadays most are riveted.. dunking certainly wouldn't help and from a safety point I wouldn't advise tampering, best to replace..

The last thing you need is high pressure gas reaching an appliance :whatthe:
