I've been driving my 2006 Compass Calypso for a couple of years now but have only done two long journeys to date-both this year (350 miles approx each way). Although mostly on major A roads and conditions not too bad, I realised that my right knee was aching as the driving position is causing a twisting to place my foot on the accelerator pedal. Any thoughts on how to resolve this?

You could have cruise control fitted,
its a great help on long journeys,
you dont say what your base vehicle is ours is a fiat ducato, and had cc fitted by Dave Newell.

2006 Compass Calypso should be on a Fiat/Peugeot base vehicle, straight forward cruise install for us. £418.86 less 5% funster discount.

We have a Talbot Compass Calypso and I used to suffer from 'Talbot Right Foot Syndrome' because of the sloping floor. Shortly after we bought it I fitted a 9mm plywood bridge all the way across from the driver’s side to the passenger’s side. It has a back piece along the whole length, for added strength and stability, and is also anchored over the lip in the driver’s seat base. Then it has two side pieces to give it further strength.

There used to be a dip in the floor (original design) but now everything is on one level so very pleased with the result as it gives a much better driving position now. Been in place for over 4 years and no problems.

5 years, feel free to ask me about the Carado!!
Not sure if that is on the pugeot/FIAT chassis ? I find the seat incredibly close to the facia and steering wheel/pedals in this cab, if you have long legs, so modified the turntable seat base (2 extra holes) to go back an inch or so which made a big difference on pedal comfort. Are French and Italian people all under 6' ????? Might be a bit cheaper than a retro fitted cruise control.

That will unfortunately be slightly dearer as it also needs a speed signal generator, best to call us on 01952 587702 during normal working hours for a price.

Definitely to do with the floor! We have the Ducato LHD and the same problem, but with clutch.

Do you have a photo of the modification as I would like to try this alteration.
