I intend to put a solar panel on the roof of my motorhome and I believe the fixing blocks are stuck on the roof. What adhesive is usually used for this. Thanks for any advice.

Silkaflex is the best to use, but make sure that you also use the Silkaflex activator/ cleaner as well.

I used this kit

Not cheap, but I was so concerned about the large panel (140w) blowing off, I opted for the best I could find.... I'm sure the other sikas would be fine but once you factor in the activator costs, the difference in price isn't so great.

Sikaflex 252 and activator (y)

As supplied with my Alden sat dish to fix it to the roof .. it has no other fixings..

1. Use a pencil to mark out the positions of the roof brackets, then rough the surface with med. grade sandpaper.
Wipe clean with a cloth soaked in meths or spirit, let dry.

2. Apply Sikaflex activator to the roof and allow to dry for about 15 mins..

3. Apply a good layer of Sikaflex onto the brackets .. about 3mm , press onto roof ,
not too hard, you don't want to squeeze all the adhesive out.. and leave to set for 24hrs.

Great thanks Eddie... very pleased. (y)

.. very easy to install and set up .. basically it was 'plug in and play' and it locks on very fast .. from pressing the power button to watching TV .. 35sec.

Impressed is putting it mildly .. will see how it performs in France next month
