technically my 2nd post as just posted for buying advice earlier so apologies!

Looking to buy a MH for me and the Mrs to take the dog away at weekends and eventually further afield. France looks very appealing.

Erm, bit more about myself.....well, if I'm honest I'm not the most confident of driving one of these big beasts. 10 years driving a car with no accidents but..well,there a bit smaller aren't they?

Oh I've noticed people advising subscribing - how is this done?

See you on the forums.

Hi @CHF - have a look along the top menu options and there's one marked 'subscribe' - the info is in there.
In the meantime - welcome!
Driving a motorhome is a doddle - just be aware of your width, height and length and you'll be fine!

panel van conversions are more car like to drive, narrower and easier to live with then their larger cousins

Mrs really has her heart set on an end lounge so that narrows the options a lot. Apart from that were fairly open.

Hi from Eastbourne and :welc:
Good luck with your search(y)
Just remember most people don't get it right on the first van so don't go too mad ;)

Hi CHF and welcome!

Have you had a look at the Hymer Duo? We saw one at Travelworld the other day. It looks great - its tailor made for two people and has a U shaped lounge at the back.

:welc: Think very carefully before deciding which layout you want. We had set our hearts on a u-shape rear lounge but after viewing many vans, face to face discussions with other motorhomers and of course, advice on here, we settled on a front lounge with twin 6ft bench seats and swivelling cab seats. Opens up the whole van for use rather then having wasted cab space. Well, that is our opinion anyway. This, was after 12 months of searching so take your time. I would also suggest hiring first to make sure you do actually like it. We have plenty of room in ours for two adults and a 40kg Lab and it is only 6.5m long. Good luck (y)

Hi we felt like you when changed our caravan with fixed bed for motorhome .
In March we finally found the right van i also wanted end lounge , found one we love it when
Going out just for Day its so comfortable also.
.Gone way a few times already
going to Malvern show with club as well
We got a Autosleeper Orian ,we were told not many like it .
It is a four berth but we use end lounge to sleep in ,
worst part we have to pull bed out at night ,but getting used to it .
Good luck in choosing your Motorhome .
