I have an Autocruise Starblazer that I intend to do some adjustments on the roof. I am concerned that the roof is not strong enough to stand or kneel on. It needs a good clean too but I don't want to take the chance and just do it.

It does not have a ladder at the back and I know that this is not an indication that a motorhome can take the weight of someone on the roof but I thought I would ask the people in the know first.

Any advice would be appreciated

Several years now
We recently saw three grown men standing on the back half of the roof of a MH, don't know what make it was, but we thought that was pushing it !! Mind, it was at a festival, so it could have been a hire vehicle.

On and off for many years.
Can you borrow a scaffold tower? Or better still two towers so you can work from boards resting on the towers rather than the roof.

I have a set of tall stepladders (7 steps plus platform) which I originally bought for hedge cutting when we first moved to this house. Using them I can safely reach to more than half way across the roof from each side, for cleaning, without putting much weight on it.

I am happy up on ours but I would not go on most UK vans.

I always kneel on a foam pad though and go up without shoes.

not long enough
Book a valet at a show and you will have someone up there as quick as you like, safe or not:LOL:

But if you have anything fitted solar satellite etc I am pretty sure they would be up there as well, maybe they only employ light people

I have been on mine at over 19 stone, I am more concerned about falling off, not through, it seems a lot further down than looking up :)

Seriously though a friend of ours fell through a skylight on his Hymer, had serious cuts to his leg, very lucky escape
