Have tried searching previous posts but can't see the definitive answer so seeking advice again.

Following recent blowout am about to replace all tyres, currently fitted are marshall commercial tyres 205/70R 15C load rating is 106 when I check handbooks both the Hymer and base Ducato this size of tyre is not mentioned, Fiat say for camping car and ambulance 215/70R 15c

Hymer show a range of sizes obviously to cover differences in models covered by the manual, but no mention of the currently fitted 205's

The load rating on 215 size goes up to 109 which is an additional 30Kg on the 106 rated 205

Can I just go ahead and change size?? (tyre man says yes BUT!!!)

My guess would be that as its only 10 mm it will be OK but the proper answer is it depends on the rim width, if you know that you can be sure.

Right found tyre width table with rim sizes, will see tyre man tomorrow! Thanks Martin

(says 7" rim will take fro 195 to 225 ideal width 205 or 215 so 7" is what I need the rims to be)

Our IVECO rims are 6 inch and have 225x75x16 tyres on.

Martin

Should add all standard from factory.

Thanks for calculator, strange the wider tyre (215) is showing narrower rim?

It shows 6 for the 205 and 6.5 for the 215 for me, you need to keep the aspect ratio ie 70% the same. Although ours are 225 they come out as 6 inch standard rim as the aspect is 75%.

We upped our 215's on the Mercedes to 225's with no problems.

Were 215/75R16C now 225/75R16C.

121 load rating on the rears and 118 on the front.

Front axle is 2.3 tonnes, tyres are 2.64 tonnes.
Rear axle is 4.3 tonnes, tyres are 5.8 tonnes (twin rear wheels)

You,re right Martin, can't see marking but my best efforts at measuring not conclusive, am shilly shallying a bit because I am trying to find someone locally who will look at my front end, pretty sure I need springs changing, as I will hopefully be upgrading the van next year I am reluctant to fork out for the comfort ones mentioned on the forum, was hoping to find heavy duty ones, (I can buy aftermarket for less than £70 a side, I know everyone will tell me it's a waste of money but the £1000 budget for tidying the van before our european trip has long gone)
