Garmin Express And Map Update (1 Viewer)

There is an update for Garmin Express (4.0.20.0) and Garmin Maps (2016.10) available for download.
For interest Express says approx 3 hours for the map update.
Off and running and we'll wait to see how long it takes.

Having seen this post, I just went on Garmin Express and yes there was a map update for my Dezl 560, it took less than a minute. Can't have updated much.

The Garmin Express update is just for this piece of software.
If you are entitled to an update of the Garmin Map data it will show as a separate item and would take a number of hours as it's around 7Gb for Europe version.
As it's just been released there is also the potential that their servers will get overloaded and may not actually install!

Map update 2106.10 is available for my Nuvi 2595. Maybe you should try again.

yip.. spent about 3 hours downloading then failed to instal.. better waiting a few days ..

I had the same issue first time around, Jim but have been able to update BaseCamp on 2 computers and 2 sat navs at second attempt. Whoopee!
Having said that had an issue with the USB connection to the computer and got map unlock errors on BaseCamp (corrupted file) so had to dig out the correct unlock codes and enter these manually!

I thought it was just me who was having problems.
Tried several times to download the map update for Garmin Camper 760. Garmin's tech support had me reinstall Garmin Express and other messing about, but to no avail. No response back since I went back to them. They never mentioned (and I do not suppose they would) that the problem was probably their servers. Much easier to make you feel it is your fault. I think I'll wait and try in a couple of weeks. The more tech we have the more stressful life becomes.....

Plugged my 760 Camper into the 'puter but no updates listed.
I did update Express a week ago but no map update shown today.
I wonder if they stagger the upgrades to lessen the burden on their servers?

A possibility. Wonder how they choose 1st and 2nd rate citizens though?
And if it wasn't for us 1st raters how would the lower classes ever find out?

Update on the map update!
Garmin support came back to me again and included some useful hints.
In summary I installed and then used MapInstall via the following link:http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=3291
Also they recommended using an ethernet connection rather than wifi, which probably helps continuity.
Finally I also checked using Garmin Express and was able to update the maps.
I am no techy, but it seems to have worked, but a faff..

Yep Beachmat, similar to the way I install.
Use download to computer only option and then install on sat nav using MapInstall which is included in their BaseCamp software package.

Updated the Chinese satnav last week and thought about the Nuvi 1690 which doesn't get much use now. Checked for updates, plugged in and about 3 hours later 2015.40 was installed. What I don't bother with now is the live annual subscription whatever that was.

You'll be pleased to hear then that 2015.40 had now been updated to 2016.10 this week!

Only did it yesterday and it's still showing 2015.40 for me, do they supply different maps for different models? Anyway it's not October 2016 yet so how do they know what the roads will be like then?

Edit: Checked again and mine are "Full coverage of Europe" so seems I have the latest version at 2015.40.

Maybe they do do different model dependent versions and yours isn't released as yet?
But two of mine are lifetime "Full Coverage of Europe". Both updated from 2015.40 yesterday.

This is the message for the Camper 760.

The other is an older nuvi 2460 and this is the message.
