Does anyone know of a painless, and cheap way of getting a radio code for a Fiat Ducato? My motorhome came with half a million documents but the radio code was not one of them :)

Yes thanks i had already read that thread ( i can use Google too) but none of it applied to me. I have no intention of booking my van into Fiat and paying £100. I'll probably end up paying an online company to provide it. Just wondered if anyone had a secret contact:)

Unless the radio (presumably the factory-fitted model) has a default code, there'll be some software somewhere that will work it out based on (presumably) the unit's serial number. Anyone with access to that software will want to charge you for the service. It's the same with mobile phone unlocking. Having dabbled a bit with re-selling mobile phones I reckon you've got 5 options:

1. Found out the default code (if one exists)
2. Find out how to factory reset the unit (if that option exists)
3. Pay someone to generate the code using the secret software
4. Find somewhere that generates codes for free (unusual)
5. Buy a new radio and sell the old locked unit to subsidise it.

Sadly you don't get much for Ducato factory fit radios even with their codes.

Thankfully my radio is not locked, I just want the code for the eventuality that one day it may be :)

Nice one! I have just joined that forum.
And I thought you wrote..I can use Google too :)
I somehow thought they might have had a forum and for key codes too.
If anyone is interested and needs one for a transit you just need to make 10 posts on the transit forum. I used it on our last MH

I think sometimes it depends on which browser you are using because using Maxthon it didn't show that Fiat thread, yet it does using Firefox?
