Am I crazy?
I will be 70 years ancient in October. I'm going to buy a 12 year old Ducati rig, JTD 1.9 engine 98 Kilometres. It appears to be in very good condition.
I live in northern Spain but I'm originally fro North Yorkshire. I want to explore a lot more of Europe.
Do yo think that both me and the motor home are too old

Seventy is nothing. There are folk touring in their eighties.

Health is an issue, but if you can't get about you can tow a car or carry a mobility scooter. But an electric bike would be best if it suits.

A Spanish motorhome may have been exposed to salt far less than a UK van, as for yourself, you are hardly run in yet!

Both you and your camper are younger than me and mine.
I'm off to France next week and won't be back until August - come on, things to do and places to go.
You're too young to be old :)

Silly boy...!
Of course not, get it bought and get on with it.
Just sold an aeroplane to a 73 year old who got his private pilots licence 2 years ago.....

Pick up my first Van next week, 11 years young but its done a third of the mileage of my 5y car (and a van is designed to do many more miles). No worries.
As for age - you're as young/old as you feel.
Don't let a number intimate you - or what your "circle" suggest how you "should" behave.
I know many aged 50yr olds and many youthful 70+
My own brother in law is 71 this year... his household is full of laughter & fun.

I'm 70 in february -- just starting motorhoming too-it's only a number you have to decide when you are going to be old and I'm not doing it for anyone!!!!!!!

Too old at 70? Pfft! You're just starting!

And we've done most of Europe and North Africa in a 30 year old van without a hitch.

Just say yes!

I'm staggered I didn't realise that were so many people in th autumn of their years driving about Europe .
I though I would stand out and get abuse off other road users :)
I had already decided to go ahead , thank you all for your encouragement it just confirms what I feel.
