EDDC have relaxed parking rules re "campervans".

article from local newspaper:-

"A ban on motorhomes and campervans parking in EDDC Council car parks has been eased. From last week, these vehicles may now use them during the daytime (8am to 10pm) - but the ban on their overnight parking remains in place. EDDC hopes that owners of these vehicles will choose to park in larger car parks for greater ease of access. But all district council car parks can now be used. Larger vans that take up two car spaces must pay for both"

The fight goes on!

A welcome extension to the policy of allowing motorhome parking in designated car parks. It will be worth trying the designated car parks first as some have larger bays which mean only one ticket need be bought.

Good news..
I think more and more places will realise that motorhoming is reaching epidemic levels and by blanket banning places are loosing significant numbers of visitors

Paying for two tickets and out by 10pm. I cant see that being taken up by too many.

When we want to call into Thirsk either to visit a friend or just go for coffee and something to eat we use the car park and pay for two spaces, its actually quite reasonably prices.

To be fair to East Devon Council, they didn't have a blanket ban. Parking for motorhomes was allowed in designated car parks as a result of a review undertaken in 2013 - see Agenda Item 10 Here.
To some extent they could have been forgiven if they did crack down more on parking as some residents were basically using concessionary car park deals as cheap long term storage for their vans.

Two bays Reasonably priced in Thirsk possibly wouldn't pay for a single bay in Devon.:)
