We took off our flue cover to use our hot water. How do we turn our hot water off but keep the fire on without having to put the flue cover back on.?

Surely the flue covers need to be off if you're using the fire? Carbon monoxide etc!

Our fire was on last night and our flue cover wasnt off.
I think it only has to be off for the boiler to work.

When we had our caravan, we were told we must remove the flue covers when using the gas heater. I imagine it is to release any dangerous gases, perhaps motorhomes have a different set up. I'm sure someone will be along to clarify!

If you are using electric you don't need the fluecover off, only with gas do you need to remove it. Turn the switch off ours is in the bottom compartment of the cooker for the w.heater

We are wildcamping so using gas.
Think ive solved it. Turned the dial above the door off. I thought that regulated the heat but it must be for just the boiler as the fire is still on

It is only the Truma Ultrastore water heater that usually has a flue cover, the "fire" (which I'm guessing is a Truma 3002 series unit) is a completely separate entity and therefore the water heater and its controls/flue cover have absolutely no bearing on its functions.

Thanks Dave. I know we have to remove the vent covers when we run the fridge on gas too. I suppose there's no harm in me being over cautious where gas is concerned lol !

Your fridge will work perfectly well and safely with the winter covers in place if the temperature is low. They should be used in temperatures below about 8* C.
