Ours down here in sunny Spain was dreadful thick thunder clouds and it's been pouring for days. It seems that the eclipse lasted all day it's been so dark and gloomy.

I would think it was pretty good here in Newport - a brilliantly sunny day - however, I was in Asda and missed it!

It was dark dank morning
No real change in the available light

What a shame really
enjoyed the one
In 1999 used a welding glass to watch it
Brilliant sunny day then

Waste of time in Torquay, just a dull morning, thought I had got the wrong day, took the dog for a walk, it did not get any where near dark.

Eclipse was a bit of a non event, didn't go anywhere near as dark as I expected

I am much more interested in your northern light sightings

How bad are the rods at this time of year, I am looking at driving up to the arctic circle next year, either as soon as the roads are safe to drive on or just before they get too dangerous again, I was thinking April or September, is March a bit too early?

Brilliant clear sky, fantastic view through double glass welding mask. Didn't go very dark though here in Lincolnshire.

Palencia, Spain, great, made some viewing specs from muesli box, Aldi type, had a good half hour of varying cover. 1999 was not so good, we were in Torridon, it went dark and cold, but the day was saved by a passing Goldie. How many more can I see before 6 foot of soil blocks my view.?

We are at Barnard Castle cc site quite cloudy but managed a few pics, it went really cold and quiet, the birds were quiet, I think they went to bed for a nap. I will try to post some pics when I get home
Cheers Dave

Since july 2009 And Still Going Strong
We've had clear skies ☀️most of the week which is the first for a long time here on mull. But the weather gods thought we'd had to much of a good thing and gave us low cloud and rain ☔️this morning so didn't see a thing.
But we have been treated the last 3 nights with the northern lights which is special

 Having said that, I would trade the view at Temple Square for a cool beer in Spain for sure.

We're in a lovely aires overlooking the sea and a marina in Almerimar, just had homemade steak and ale pie, chips and veg in the Stumble Inn, so although we didn't see the eclipse, life ain't too bad!

Bright and clear throughout , but an absolute bugger to photograph. It went a bit darker than usual around 9:30 but not much.

This was a direct photo using a telephoto lens with a strong neutral density filter.

..and this one was projected onto a stone wall using a piece of card with a pen-sized hole punched in it.

The 9 million other photos I took were all rubbish, and I didn't get any decent shots of the moon as a disc. So it goes. :)
