Is there a Funster out there who knows if any one/company will be fitting Fiamma awnings at the National show in Peterborough? I know Rose usually fit Thule-Omnistor awnings during the show but I don't know who if anyone will be fitting Fiamma. I have heard it is less expensive to have an awning fitted at the show; please enlighten me if this is not true.

Not sure who is there can you google it, and yes we had ours fitted at a show and it was definately cheaper, worth getting your booking in early though because they do get booked up.

Let's hope it doesn't rain then ;) Johns Cross are the biggest Fiamma dealers.

I would suggest using a local fitter that has premises though to be honest, if you don't wish to travel?

Probably right; I have just phoned John Cross and they are not attending the Peterborough show or any outdoor show this year.

The PO of my last van had an awning fitted at a show. The installation comprised an awning rail pop riveted to the van, awning casing slid into rail, normal bolts through awning casing into van. The bolts were low down inside the casing so when the awning was extended it pulled all the rivets out. At the front & rear of the van (and awning) plywood was embedded in the body panel. Water let in by the rivet holes rotted the plywood. the front plywood supported the bed pivot, which detached, and the A pillar. It was a lot of work to sort out all caused by a man with few tools & even fewer wits fitting it in the middle of a field. Please use a trusted specialist.
