If you have the Lillypad nets which use the "line props" to hold the side nets.
These may be of interest, They look to have twist locking instead of those plastic screws that always seem to break.

2.3 metres. I don't think these are long enough

Good point.. Maybe on some vans they may not be long enough..
I use decorators poles that have the twist lock, the horrible green things that Lillypad supply have those plastic screws and i was always snapping them off....

Steve, Suggy had his Lillypad side nets modded at Tafraoute here in Maroc. They fitted a canvas sleeves on the top to enable the clothes poles to be inserted easier.

Im sure Suggy will be along soon with some pics - I believe he's taken out a patent on em.:LOL::LOL:

Sounds a good idea.. Its a pain hooking those elastic straps and holding a long pole..
I like the wife to hold mine while I do it.. :)

Ha ha ...the new " tubes " are definately a lot better than the elastic bands , and make clipping the pole to the awning easier and less drafty ,
I got some twist lock poles from home bargains as well as the aldi ones and put them along the base through the loops , if you drill the poles at each end you can put a tent peg through them to hold them down a lot easier then pegging each loop down ,

maybe cut off the hook and fit it into another pole to extend it ,
at 3quid you can experiment .

I know it's a bit expensive but we bought a Fiamma clip system and fitted an awning bead to the top of each end of the windblockers you can then have a clipped alluminium joint at the top and the system comes with two extending poles one for each end.
They work really well and keep the wind out awning nice and tight.

They must have gone downmarket.
when i bought ours they gave me the twist lock ones and large rubber suckers.

They said if i needed replacements Wilkinsons stocked them.
