campercontact says you can park overnight at D Day Museum, Portsmouth for €5.50, does anyone know if this is still the case ??

The sign shown on Street View indicates that the Museum car park is a council one. Portsmouth City Council do not allow overnighting on any of their car parks.

Best to check as Fidget advises.

Southsea Common............:eek::eek:
At one time it certainly wasn't somewhere I'd want to spend the night; (Although the nightlife was certainly both interesting and 'entertaining' ;):whistle::whistle:.......)

I've looked back at some old files. I don't know where Campercontact obtained its information but everything I have (going back to September 2006) indicates that overnighting was never allowed at D Day Museum.

I stay here from time to time no problems at all also bus stops at ferry road so can get into the heart of town easy. Its a nice walk along the front although a few mile but lots to see and do Southsea and Portsmouth have a fair bit to offer. I have also seen plenty park along the front that appear to be overnighting but personally I would rather be out the way a bit.

Is that at the pay and display car park or on the road leading up (which seems to have lots of double yellow lines)?

Best bet is to stick to the seafront you have no charge there from 6 pm until 8 am and you can get a good coffee there in the morning.

I would not park at ferry road.
