We don't have much storage in 'Shirley' so use one of three drawers for storing the dinner plates.

This drawer had an annoying habit of coming open when we went round bends so recently I decided to take it out and investigate.

Hidden behind the drawer and stopping it closing properly was a beautiful satin negligee.

Barrie swears it's not his so it must have been there at least 10 years :)

Has anyone else found anything interesting in their motorhome? :)

Of course it's not his! The very thought! It belongs to that bird he was taking there when you were out! (y)(y)(y)

in caravans and motorhomes i've bought, have found absolutely all sorts. from a stash of decent wine through to a lifetime collection of maps. mostly found in vans being sold complete with contents due to giving up camping or from executors. some things left in, you wonder just how many miles has it travelled or views seen through binoculars and cameras

Oh my goodness - how exciting! I think it should be a round Robin raffle prize. When we had our boat and were members of a boating club someone found an LP on their boat - The Perfumed Garden - apparently it was a 15th century Arabic sex manual.... :Eeek: We used to make a fortune for the club and charities by auctioning it off every year! No one admitted to actually playing it during their year of ownership though!

This is a bit of a sad/happy story and has still left me in a quandary.

Towards the end of last year I was browsing Ebay and Autotrader for a particular model campervan that I'd been after for years - and there it was!

A little older than what I had in mind but the habitation design and layout was perfect for me and in very good nick and the meaty bit up front looked well maintained and drove nicely.

The asking price was about right and advertised with FSH.
At the end of the test drive the seller (seemed a nice guy) told me that sadly they couldn't find the service history book.

Hmmmm - a genuine situation or a conn?

I told him that I'd be very interested, at that price, if he was able to lay his hands on the service book - and I then drove home.

3 days later I had a call from the seller to tell me that the service book was lost - nowhere to be found - gone forever but if I was still interested, he'd reduce the asking price by 25% (I could see that he really wanted to get rid of it). At that price, with or without the service book, it was a bargain and I accepted the risk of some hidden major engine problem, paid up and and drove it home - with a big smile on my face and my fingers crossed.

The next day - van parked on my drive, I got into it and under it to find out what condition it really was in and how everything worked.

The front seats swivel round but you need to slide them back to be able to do so and with the seat slid back there's a nice little tray underneath and, laying there was................

Of course, I'm really chuffed to have picked up such a bargain but I do feel sorry for the seller and still pondering on whether or not I should tell him and maybe return some of the money (but I probably won't).

I am loving this thread.

I found a mouse staring at me in our boot when we had a mouse infestation in the old van.

Not sure which of us was the most scared:D
