On the approach to the M4 Severn Bridge, the toll signs indicate:
CARS £6.50
VANS & PICKUPS £13.10
OVER 3.5T £19.60

So we paid up our £13.10 - and the woman in the booth said "That's too much" and gave us back £6.60! Yay!

Crumbs I thought you were going to refer to my thread on pick up lines then, Wendy.. :) :)

How nice to have someone do that for you and you didn't have to moan to get the money back. Well done you. :)

Motohomes have always been car rate same for Dartford crossing, at least it gave you a nice surprise.

Never understood why they charge to go into Wales could have made a fortune charging a lot more to get out.:ROFLMAO:

Website says cars and motorcaravans.... £6.50
Yeah, we didn't know we were going that way so hadn't checked the tolls before, so it was just a nice little boost to our day.

The Welsh aren't as savvy as the Cornish - they'll let you in but not out.

I do find it amusing that a 4.5 ton motorhome is classed as a car but little Peogeot Partner valeting van has to pay £13.10, I'm not complaining, just amused. Perhaps instead of having sign writing down the side I should bung in a couple of windows :):)

Put a couple of vinyl signs on the side with a window picture on them.:)

If I made the trip regularly I'd get some magnetic signs with a window printed on them :):):) but only having a handful of customers a year in Wales it doesn't seem worth it

I always use the m50

Yep same here, from work near Newbury via Bridge 122 miles; from work via A417, A40 125 miles but slow and you have to go through the Forest of Dean:Eeek: (there be dragons) or the quick alternate A417, M5, M50, A40 132 miles. No contest but usually I travel by train as I'm knackered at the end of a shift.:)
Stands by awaiting incoming from @Forestboy

Come on CW you didn't really expect to get into Wales free did you, and a rebate too:Eeek: there's lucky isn't it. There'll always be a Welcome in These Hillsides for paying guests.:D
Wherever your going, whatever your plans, enjoy, our's is a wonderful little country, without the majesty of Scotland perhaps but still pretty good!(y) (BB Breaks into Men of Harlech as tears stream down his cheeks.)

Oh, that hurt!

But if Plaid Cymru ever take over the Welsh Assembly I will be joining the queue to move back over the border. I would then willingly pay for that journey!

Well, they let us out of Wales for free today, probably glad to see us go, and we didn't even have to pay on the other side of the border. But then, the English will let anybody in won't they?
And Cornwall's still hibernating - months yet till the emmet season - so they didn't even notice us going in.
Cheap Valentine's Day all round!
Round... drinks... wine..........
