So, the beginners quest continues!
Renting a trial van, going to "explore" nearby Lincoln pre Easter but what to do when it's out of season?
The Castle is closed, the Magna Carta is on 'tour', the open bus tour hadn't started, nor has the boat trip. Guided walks not until Easter. The cathedral obviously but what else can the Funsterati suggest???

The Strugglers & The Victoria, both close together under the castle walls - west side. Drinkers' pubs.
The Wig & Mitre on Steep Hill & the pie shop next door - east side of the castle. Foodie pubs.
Museum of Lincolnshire Life on Burton Road - 5 mins walk from the first two pubs. Military history, Victorian Lincolnshire & a good collection of examples of Lincoln engineering, including the very first tanks (battle, not water).

Park in The Lawns car park, just past The Vic heading south. Turn right into the first entrance & keep right to find the spaces where you can hang the back end over the grass.

When are you going? - actual dates - there is often music at the museum weekend afternoons. There will be some this Sat, because I'm going to help provide some of it.

Interesting specialist shops on Bailgate - cheese, whisky (& whiskey), fancy foods etc. Some good places to eat up there too, if you want to eat out.

It's the top end of Lincoln that's interesting. The bottom end (down hill) is much like any other town. All the places mentioned are less than 10 mins walk from the car park.
