Rant - WAJAM Nightmare. (1 Viewer)

Hi All,
I am getting just about ready to throw my laptop out of the window due to this bl***y Wajam crap that has seemed to have over taken my computer,,,, everywhere I go it's there - I will NEVER buy from it and just cannot get rid of the thing.
Anybody know how to get rid - if one follows the de-subscribing info it just increases the plague.
It is not titled in any directory and just looking at ebay is now a nightmare.

HELP!!!!!!

Took ages to get rid on Shirls pc.

Ignore their uninstall...it doesnt work as you found out.

Use your 'uninstall program' facility in 'Control panel'

Then install CCleaner (Broken Link Removed ) or Comodo (https://www.comodo.com/home/interne...5sk1=0a4b0add019af7832ea132a3ea2198032057d4d0) to clean the registry and windows to get rid of any loose ends.

May take a few attempts but it will delete it all eventually.

No don't try that. As mentioned in posts 1 & 2 using their uninstaller will make it worse.

Sorry, didn't realise that's what the OP had meant by de-subscribing.
Maybe something like revouninstaller would work but almost certainly editing registry entries would be involved eventually.
If it's malware would malwarebytes be of use?

I hate applications that do this, I'm forever cleaning up family computers of cr@p like this.

Yes, your right with the Wajam uninstaller - the bloody thing just makes it worse and then 'camouflage's' the links so unable to install as the directories have no names. I think my worse foible was to try the uninstaller - thanks for the pointer though.
Don't even touch to have a look.....

Way to go Pappajohn - used your recommendations and now got rid of the f*******g thing....... YAY!!!!!!!! I bow to you Sir.

That thing was taking over my life - now gone, and it may seem a coincidence but my laptop is now as fast as it was way back when.

If any dregs got missed on clean-up it may come back....which is why i said it may take a few attempts.

Hopefully the cleaner found all the stray files.

So easy to download the damned thing if downloading a free program.

Clicking 'accept' without studying can easily accept the download within the free prog you wanted.

Sick of telling Shirl to read what she's accepting first.
she has so many obscure toolbars its unreal.

Iobit uninstaller works for me, it uninstalls your unwanted program then asks if you want to trace any left over files so you can rid of those as well.

If all else fails restore your pc to a previous date. CCcleaner is free and very good.

WAJAM, WAS the bane of my life..... It is a 'for sale' site that gets into your machine on the back of some other download,,,, known as a worm apparently. Then the thing gets into everything and one is faced with large pop-ups with similar things you are looking for, but for sale elsewhere. It really is a nightmare. Go on ebay,,,, Wajam. Go on a bike website,,,, Wajam. "Looking for a motorhome Sir"? Up comes Wajam.
It's horrible and extremely frustrating. However, its gone now and I hope the Wajam idiots choke, and all thanks to our Motorhome Fun brothers.

Ah' breath a sigh of relief.
