Continental Tyres (1 Viewer)

I have been trying to replace the tyres on my Rapido as they are now over 7 years old although there is plenty of wear left in them. The original tyres which I would like to buy again are Continental Vanco 4 Seasons 235/65R 16C with a load rating of 121/119. I know that Continental still make these tyres but I cannot find anyone able to supply them. Has anybody managed to find a supplier for these tyres recently. I dont want a tyre with a lower load rating and I am starting to get desperate. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This is what Oponeo have, haven't done business with them myself. They don't seem to do Conti with that load rating

I have just done a quick search myself and they do appear to be like rocking horse droppings.

Maybe a email to Continental tyres might pay off

Hi Spongy just been on Oponeo and they are available (£572-4xtyres) I am also looking to replace mine so will be ordering shortly,as I also have a Rapido with same tyres and load ratings as yours.

I don't think Conti make a tyre called Vanco 4 Seasons any more. The replacement standard tyre is called Vanco 2. Now that continental drivers and road authorities are promoting winter tyres, it appears that Conti refer to standard tyres as 'Summer Tyres'. They recommend winter tyres for use at temperatures below 7ºC.

I have had Vanco and Vanco2 in the past and found them excellent. I have just switched to Vanco Winter 2 for all-year use. I checked this was OK with Continental's technical department first. The benefit is much better low temperature performance and better traction on muddy campsites in summer. They are M&S and Snowflake marked. Also, I don't have to worry about switching tyres if / when we want to visit some countries in Winter where appropriate tyres are now mandatory.

Interesting - ignore my earlier post as they are still available. I wonder why Conti do not list them on their own website? Perhaps a dealer selling existing stock; I would check the date of manufacture in case they are older stock.

I have these 4 season tyres on my maxi chassis 2013 PVC. I think they came as standard if you went for the traction + option. If possible would like to be able to specify in the future as they give you a bit if confidence in poor weather....

Having read some of the reviews, they appear to have some problems !! Splitting down the centre of the tread and bubbles, plus poor adhesion in the wet...
JAWS was praising Hancooks to me just before he went away.. I'm sure you will make up your own mind.. Good luck..

Maybe I'm being too simplistic, but tyre development will have come on a bit in that length of time so perhaps not limiting yourself to the exact same tyres will be more beneficial and also easier!

Thanks for your response, I have looked at the PNUES web site and it looks as though they have these tyres in stock in Holland. Price looks reasonable as well so will probally order them.

Have looked at the Vanco2 tyres which appear to have the same load rating but are a summer tyre. I would prefer the 4 season tyre if possible but thanks for your help

I have been very pleased with the Vanco 4 seasons tyres that I am replacing, they have done 29000 miles and I am only replacing them because they are 7.5 years old.

@spongy Just a thought, I have read recently on some of the tyre manufacturers websites that tyres are quite OK up to 10 years old as long as you inspect them for cracking in the side walls (see a specialist).............

Worth a try?

Edit: I do mean of course that the inspection confirms no cracking etc)

I am pleased to say my Continental Four Season tyres were delivered today, bought online from www.tyres-pnues-online.co.uk. excellent service. If anybody else with a Rapido or similar that has these tyres as original fitting and have been having trouble sourcing them I would recommend this Company. Thanks to everybody for their advice.
