hi all
am off on the santander ferry next month and spending time around the alicante region .Will then be making our way up to calais to catch a p&o back.Have come up with a couple of possible routes but thought i would ask for advice from anyone whos actually done it as theres no substitute for experience

Depends when you are going back. If its april or later you have the option of going through the middle of the pyranees. Takes longer but spectacular scenery.

Otherwise you need to choose which side of the pyranees to go, biaritz or Barcelona. We have done both, not much in it in time or distance.

Up the coast of spain and then through france across the milau bridge takes some beating, especially since the motorway across the milau is not a toll motorway (except for the bridge itself).

thanks for your replies -lots to go at there .We re returning end of march ish with no time restrictions so will try to take the most enjoyable route stopping off when we see something or somewhere interesting on the way thanks again-regards dave
