Planning my installation and I know the cable from panel to controller has to be the UV stuff but what cable should I use from controller to batteries?
Is it the same?

Thanks in advance

what cable should I use from controller to batteries?

that depends on the cable length, voltage and max. current .. and also what % losses you are prepared to accept..

for example..

a 2mt run @ 14volts with a max load of 20amps with 3% loss would require .. 4mm2 ..

increase the cable run to 4mt and you need 10mm2 cable

use this calculator to size for yourself..

I'm planning to add a second 110ah leisure battery and fitting a 100w panel. Distance from panel to controller around 3m controller to batteries 1.5m

Still very much at planning stage so all advice welcome.

The cable from the panel to the regulator is cheaper if you get a long MC4 and cut it in half then the cut ends pass through the roof gland and the other ends give you a male and female to plug into the panel. Its cheaper than buying two cables and cutting the ends off.
