sadly none yet

so how does it work, you contact the scammer, then you make arrangements to see the van before you pay anyway? or are they just after your email address? or after you email the to show an interest, presumably they get you to pay a deposit online to hold it? If anyone knows the likely manner of the scam please tell me, am interested and alarmed. cheers

yes its a scam to persuade you to pay a deposit with all sorts of excuses to prevent you seeing it..you would be surprised! more than one born everyday:censored:

like most scams designed to appeal to greed to fish you in...think ponzi schemes

Terry is the expert on scams.. so I'm only guessing ..

but I imagine the seller would invite the buyer to come and view the motorhome and ask for a small holding deposit of say £250 , refundable if the deal falls through.

I think the lesson is, never ever hand over cash until you have

a) physically inspected the van
b) had an HPI check
c) checked the log book against the sellers address .. and only meet the seller at his home address.
d)and if possible, proof of ownership.

Well that`s our 13th year & still loving it.
I wonder what the Caravan club response would be to their ad section being hacked?

Can't remember ;)
As Jim says if you are lucky £250 DEP -If not they make excuses that they are in army/work abroad/etc etc and if you pay money into a holding account that holds your money until van is delivered only allowing it to be released TO THEM when you have the van (YEAH) they will arrange delivery FOR YOU (y):D
looks like CC is the favored media now instead of ebay
NEVER PAY A DEPOSIT OR ANY MONEY UNTIL YOU HAVE SEEN/GOT THE VAN --there will always be another van ;)SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE --IT'S NEARLY ALWAYS IS (y)

Its for sale in my home town I think. But its not me who has it for sale but I am happy if someone seriously wants to buy it to have a quick visit to check it out.

But really at that price I suspect it is a scam. You know what they say. (y)
