Discoloured plastic! (1 Viewer)

Eek ..... Left shampoo bottles on floor of shower and now there's a yellow mark where I guess plastics have reacted badly with each other. Any ideas how I can get it back to its former glory!! Have tried magic sponge and all usual cleaning stuff from supermarket with no effect.

Shampoo has permeated/leached into the plastic.
probably only a bleach solution will shift it.

Shampoo has the ability to remove cured gloss paint if left long enough.

If it's surface staining then a fine metal polish might work, or T cut, but try a small area first. If it's not surface stained I suspect it'll be difficult to remove.

We have wooden worktops in our kitchen at home.... The "youths" of the household leave empty tin cans on them - and they subsequently stain - leaving rings... also one of them faffs with my spices and he's stained the tops with tumeric before today.... etc..

I have found that cutting a fresh lemon and rubbing on the affected affected area has removed every stain to date... I usually keep an eye on it.. leaving it "wet" with the juice just long enough for the stain to disappear ....

It brings plastic garden furniture back to brand new too! Also silver, copper, stainless steel, chrome, enamel, pvc etc. Doesn't scratch either!

There's a French version called Pierre Vert so there must be something similar in UK.

Sorry to go off topic but Fletton, we had 'Coffee cup' stains on our table.
We removed them by GENTLY!!! ironing over the stained area with a piece of brown paper in between.
Don't leave the iron on the spot for long and keep checking as you do it.

Goes to show.... The old methods are the best-ist!!.. I use brown paper ( and iron ) for grease marks..
